Sing to the Lord a New Song!

Throughout the history of God's redemptive movement, his people have penned new music as they have experienced his love, faithfulness, and revelation. Some of these songs make it into the timeless archives of his people—sung and played throughout the generations. Other songs have helped the people of God find their voice to worship God in specific seasons. Today, as always, the congregations of the redeemed are charged with stewarding and advancing the worship of God with our music and keeping it in tune with the revelation of God in the Scriptures and in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth (Psalm 96:1)! Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him (Psalm 98:1).

One writer commenting on Psalm 96:1 has said,

A new song is appropriate because the LORD is constantly intervening in the world as its just king (NET Bible Notes).

Purpose of the New Music Worship Page

This page will be utilized on the West Lisbon website to post lyric videos and other resources that we hope will familiarize the congregation with new music that the music team plans to introduce during the Sunday morning worship services at West Lisbon Church.
